Thank you Tuzzeo for giving me the inspiration to continue the logo/corporate identity designs. This is for a Point of Sale company whom I designed the logo for 2 years ago. Decided to design an envelope just for fun as well.

CAR*NI*VAL Magazine Cover

Create a fictitious magazine cover called Carnival- personality is up to the artist but must have target market. The top picture of the guy with tattoos is my cousin Ben who I call "Jammin." I photoshopped the tattoos and turned the image B&W to avoid copyright mumbo jumbo. The cover below him is a photograph by Chris Cassella in which I manipulated so that there was depth of field and smoke coming out of the subject's hands and mouth. I did that cover first and it was well-reviewed in class so I e-mailed Cassella to ask his permission if I could use it on my blog. He replied back which made me a bit star struck so that was pretty sweet.

Create an entire corporate package (business card, letterhead, envelope) for picked entity. Must use the name "Design Workshop" as the company name and must use student's name as fictive position.

I started with the letterhead- got excited. Then I realized in order for a client to see the layout clearly, the designer should make the design look as real as possible, thus in my later post I have an excerpt of GoMediaZine as a letter example. Everything else is fictive. Well, except my name.

OOOOOH I am thoroughly upset. This is the second time this has happened: whenever I mix live-traced objects from Illustrator to Photoshop and save it as a .png or .jpeg, the colors always fudge up!!!

This was my first design. The green is actually supposed to be a rich bright aqua gradient. Damn things.

BELOW:
The gradient is supposed to be a deep to vibrant orange (kind of like a cheetah). Honestly? I was thinking about cheetohs and how amazing they taste but are horrific for you.
